City of Knox Tripwire Pilot project


4 week deployment commencing August 7 2011 Target site – Bayswater Park Issues - $11,000 graffiti 
damage over past 2 months to Heritage Train Engine, Playground and buildings Special Interest – 
Many of Cities worst serial offenders target this location. Two cameras deployed – One in Netball Club
 Precinct in special design hide - One hidden in false down pipe near train. Infrared unit. 6 offenders 
detected in first 2 days with Police and Canine unit responding within several minutes.



Evening 1 of Pilot Deployment – 6.30 pm August 7,2011

2 Females detained by Boronia Police for graffiti incidents. Formal interview to follow, Images came through directed to 
Boronia Police and Tripwire Admin. Tripwire contacted  Boronia within a minute of detection and Police were responding. Identified as being wanted in connection to large number of  incidents in the Worri Yallock area in Yarra Ranges. Both females are known to Police for other matters.



Busted!

Evening 2 of pilot deployment. - 8.37 pm – August 8, 2011
2 females & 2 males detected. One male noted offending in same location. 
Tag yet identified. Boronia Police responded, youths scatter
Dog squad called in and within 20 minutes 2 persons apprehended.
Person identified as also being wanted by police on another matter.
