FAQ

Who are you and what are you about?

NotGuilty Zine (Est Feb 2010) spawned from an inspiring book making workshop by Graphic Designer Ged Palmer, and a diy-zine workshop attended in the first year of university.  The desire to share the hundreds of photographs gathering dust in the depths of my hard drive, produce a low cost lo-fi publication, to gain experience and enable networking and relationships to build with other similar designers and publishers on a wider scale.

Through various competitions and calls for assistance, we were lucky enough to gain support from various Illustrators, writers, businesses and such, and are now supported on a regular basis by Tim AKA Ventsa, Jay over at Copy Em, Graff City, King of Paint, The Bench, amongst others.

NotGuilty magazine is still hobby, alongside University, Girlfriends, Holidays, Gerbils and the rest.

Aren't you just making money out of an underground culture?

All the (little) proceeds from NotGuilty go into an account dedicated to the magazine, the t-shirts, magazine imports, photo shoots, legal fee's, web fee's, we try to keep as much as possible going back into projects, back into the culture. Of course sometimes we take a cut, but that will be to buy some paint, or go on a trip, to paint, we're not taking anything away, we are 100% writer owned, even our printers employ writers, we are always happy to trade products, if thats your thing.

Where is my order?

As previously stated, NG is a hobby, while we strive to post everything out as soon as possible, you may encounter delays. Reasons being include; Uni, studying for a degree, in the final year, sometimes its not possible to spend 3-4 hours packing/invoicing/posting when a deadline is approaching, when the new issue is out we may have up to 100 orders to ship, as well as fitting in design time, t-shirt folding, stock taking etc. Made to order, sometimes we will keep a box of blank tee's and make them as they come, this way we can have a better range without having to fork out on an equal amount of tee's which we may not ever sell. Selling Out, due to both the low-fundage (low stock numbers), and the ever growing nature of the business, products may sell out from stock, we may order 30 tee's and sell 10, then order 30 of another design and sell 50, it depends who has been blogging about us. We often continue taking orders after the sell-out stage to enable us to get a quick re-order, if this is not possible you will receive a full refund.

How do i send my photos to you?

Send them to editor@notguiltymag.net, if the photo can't be full screened without pixelating then it is unlikely to be suitable for print. Try and keep them above 300dpi/800pix wide. We don't often use walls, no legal walls at all, i'm sure you can find them on flickr. Please don't send us photos that you are going to post online, or send to another UK magazine.
