International graffiti exhibition ( The Moas Show)

Popped out to visit the International Graffiti Exhibition in Copenhagen recently.

A showcase of graffiti by the infamous MOAS crew, located strangely in a shopping

centre the equivalent of Bluewater or Cribbs Causeway, good way of connecting with the public.

It was impressive, and the model subway cars were a definate want. I walked round so many times,

that i ended up having one of those pedicures but where fish eat the crust off your feet.. Oh yeh.

Its coming to an end but hopefully they will have another in the future!

The canvases in the shops in Denmark were insane. Move over pretty photorealism girl,

burners by some of the biggest names, and even people i'd not heard of yet they were

rocking them sick. Big inspiration and my eyes were glued to the walls.

Didnt get my slr out in the shops, this is a tiny percentage of the shit they had on show.

Got hold of some of the new Stylefile Marker pens from the heads at Publikat. Had a quick sketch

to road test them, they were pretty nice to draw with. Nice colour range, and nice to have a round

pen after using alpha or touchtwin markers for the past few years. Theres a fine, and a fat end.

We have them in the Main 12 sets, A & B, the Greys 12 set, and a bunch of lucky dip 6sets.

Its all dark n shit but we found loads of crack nests from when it was abandoned back in the day.

Anyone who's spent much time in Italy (perhaps its similar elsewhere) will notice
that every single bit of abandonment, which you often end up walking through,
gets snapped up by gypsies, and the gov' just seem complacent in letting it be..
I imagine it sorts out the homeless situation, unlike the UK which leave hundereds
of thousands of abandoned blocks (elephant & castle) empty, and squat-proof, just
so they can save a buck on not having to evict anyone when the time comes, twisted
morals if you ask me. Sometimes the inhabitants can be really nice and we've even been
shown the right windows to get to the yard (Milan), but as soon as night falls you get
the most ultimate 'Im going to rape you into next month' looks and sometimes even
chased out, quite surreal, but i'm happy for em' for making the most of it.

Once the bank balance reaches target im outta' here, gonna go cotch with them with

my own bucket for a toilet and hang towels on the wall n shit.

The real cost of the buff

The remover costs £35 for 50 square feet. I imagine the worker is on minimum wage of about £6 an hour.

A big Panel is about 20 square feet thats about £18, would take less than an hour to remove a panel, and

the train is already out of service as the buff is executed overnight, or during off peak hours.

£24 to remove a panel. My charge sheet quoted prices of £2500 for a panel..

It is clear that the prices are ramped up purely for public effectiveness. Prices like that quoted inthe media feed public queries of why train prices are so vastly inflated. They also ensure thosecaught receive excessive punishment which could never be justified if real-time prices such as the above were quoted in court. Its easy to see why so many countries are relaxed on the subject, i guess if they've no need to justify train fares theyve no reason to invent scapegoats.

All these shows gunning graff are inadvertidly spawning more and more writers.

Young people watching shows like that just see the art and the colours and

none of whats actually being said is going in.. Im not gonna lie, it was an episode

of the bill that got me filling up my school books with outlines and pieces, wether

they were trying to make graff look bad or not i dont know, i only took in what i saw.

What’s your opinion on BTP’s current campaign against writers?

Graffiti squad appear to be hunting down writers like they are the last threat to British national security. Laws and policing methods introduced to combat terrorism are being used in the war on graffiti. BTP and Graf squad appear to have huge budgets for surveillance and other resources targeted against writers –

which surely must mean that rape, murder and terrorism are no longer a threat.

A few people have asked about this so i have fixed the links and bumping it back up. If you want to get

The feedback and interest, as well as the quality of train sketches i received over the past few weeks has

been great. Sending out packs with return postage was getting costly and time consuming, especially

to other countries, so i've decided to make the whole pack available for download HERE. Please read
